I am planning to move to Mexico, not sure exactly where yet, but hopefully near the beach, pretty safe and in more of an urban area, that is not incredibly humid!! I expect humidity, but one of the areas with a little less! I have a 9yr old son with Autism, not severe, but still requires services and he gets SSI through Social Security for himself and I also get SSDI Social Security because of Lupus. I get my money, regardless, but I found out that he will not. Is there any help in any form, for him/us when we relocate, since we will lose a chunk of money each month? Also, does anyone know if Mexico has IEP’s, Individual Education Plan or equivalent to what we have in California or in other words, programs or special education for students with varied levels of need? I can’t afford private schools, but if I homeschool part day and public the other part, is there special services for him? Are there private schools or other schools that have free tuition or sliding scale and if so, will they accept special needs? This may also help decide the area we move to! Any help is appreciated!!!!

Hi Marcie, I can't help with this. But I suggest you contact some of the international schools in Mexico and ask them, and if they can't help ask for them to recommend a local educational psychologist who might be able to.
