Hello,
My name is Katalina and I am currently an undergraduate student here in the United States (California) thinking about moving abroad to work and live once I finish my studies.
I studied abroad in Milan and fell in love with the city, people, culture-everything! The experience opened my eyes and unleashed a curiosity to take a leap of faith in potentially moving abroad to Italy.
I wanted to reach out to the community because I have some questions regarding the whole idea:
1) What is the best way to get a visa for a person who just finished school?
2) What are great ways to obtain a job to just get to your expat country?
3) Any advice in general for young expats wanting to live in Europe (main focus Italy)

Italy seems like a great place to move to, would you like to move to Milan or somewhere else? You've probably gone through the whole visa process before when you studied in Milan but now you're looking for something more long term. There are a few types of residence permits that you should look into that allow you to work in Italy, my advice would be to look at these pages on Visas and Work Permits in Italy, and contact your nearest Italian embassy or consulate as these things are subject to change, especially during this time.
I hope that the expat community on this forum can also help, but I think that teaching Engish, odd jobs through Workaway and au pairing are quite common. What are you studying and do you think you can find work in that field in Italy? For more tips, have a look at the overall guides for Moving to Italy, which also covers Milan, Florence and Rome.
